Pacquiao victory proves too fatal
This man probably died a happy man.
Agustin Borda, of Barangay Central in Ajuy, Iloilo, died Sunday due to over excitement on the victory of Manny Pacquiao over Mexican Erik Morales.
The fifty-nine year old husband of a teacher suddenly collapsed at around 1:55 pm while watching "people's champ,' Pacquiao slugging Mexico's "Il Terible' during Sunday's fight in Las Vegas, USA.
He was then brought to the Sara District Hospital, where a cardiopulmonary resuscitation was conducted to revive-though unsuccessfully-the already limp Borda.
He was declared dead 30 minutes after he was brought to the hospital.
Doctor Flozerdo Tugbang told GMA TV 6 Iloilo that Borda suffered a cardiac arrest probably due to over excitement.
Quoting Borda's family members, Tugbang said that the deceased was suffering from a heart problem.
Dr. Rene Juaneza, a noted internist here, said in a radio interview that extreme or sudden excitement can be fatal for people experiencing heart problems. "So I suggest not to be suddenly overexcited or be angered."
